IMDB: [sign in to see URL]

Good movie..
Better than it sounds on paper.
I guess it was the last gasp of the classic 80's teen flicks genre (Sixteen Candles, Pretty In Pink, The Breakfast Club, [sign in to see URL]'s Fire etc..)
A bit predictable.
But has a couple of decent story twists.
Personally, I wouldn't have taken her back.. but that's just me.
Have some pride man! emoticon

I would've enjoyed it more if it wasn't for the countless commercial breaks AMC has become (in)famous for..

Beautiful Girls 1996

It's quite good, not at all boring. Good acting, excellent cast and cinematography. Portman is amazing. Lots of nuances, look for expressions in a skating scene with Portman, Hutton and half the town. Saw this yesterday on FLIX channel, so no commercials! Woohoo! It was between this and "Earth Girls are Easy" but since we had seen "Easy" about a zillion times, we just laughed like mad for the first half hour and switched. I recommend seeing both.

Review from IMDB
(the movie is much better than the review indicates)

No,no,no that is not what I meant! I meant that the last time I went out to see a film was two years ago! Oh and I spell Katy just like Katy Allen does, just a heads up. Last TV movie I saw was the last Hallmark Hall of Fame movie with Amber Tamblyn, The Russell Girl.

I actually caught that one - Amber Tamblyn is a fine young actress. Too bad her series got cancelled, Joan of Arcadia, esp as it was really starting to get intestingly edgy. As a pal of mine says, anything good as well as innovative gets killed on network tv. (Her character was getting deeply involved in the struggle between good and evil - corporeal good and evil.)

I could never get into Joan Of Arcadia.. I don't know why.. just couldn't get interested in it.
The only think I knew of Amber Tamblyn really was from her short scene at the beginning of The Ring.
